At first I thought—hoped—that it was an article from the Onion.
But no—it was from the Associated Press.
For real. If anything having to do with a plastic doll posing in a swimsuit could be considered “real.”
The publication of this year’s swimsuit issue two days ago coincided with the American International Toy Fair taking place in New York City; the A.P. reported that Barbie would appear in an advertising wrap on the cover of 1,000 issues of the magazine for the toy fair.
Because what says “great for the kids!” more than a couple of dozen mostly naked women in a magazine produced to titillate an adult male audience?
