Derby Charity League Round 2: Add your horses!

It’s that time: time to try to bolster your lead or make a move on the leader by adding a couple of horses to your charity league stable.

Team Rotondo stalked the pace and took the lead when Chitu won the Sunland Derby, but Dawna Wood is tracking them closely. It’s a few lengths back to the rest of us.

As indicated when we got started last month, you can add one Group D and one Group E horse to your stable. I had my heart set on Samraat and Midnight Hawk, but it looks like we’re going to plan B here.

You can find the leaderboard, the stable lists, and the horse groupings here; your stables need to be updated by this Friday at 6pm Eastern time. Please post your picks in the comments or on Twitter, tagging @BklynBckstretch & @MikeDorr77.

For your convenience:

Group D:  We Miss Artie, Samraat, Hoppertunity, Chitu, Intense Holiday, Midnight Hawk, Wildcat Red, Ring Weekend, California Chrome, Tapiture, Cairo Prince, Candy Boy

Group E:  Albano, Vinceremos, General a Rod, Ride on Curlin, Havana, Kristo, Coastline, Tamarando, Strong Mandate, Rise Up, Vicar’s in Trouble, Uncle Sigh.

Thanks to those of you have already given me checks, and no worries if you haven’t. You can wait until we have a winner and send me a check that’s made out to the charity’s name, so that I can send all the checks in together; you can also send me a blank check now (if you’re comfortable doing that) and I’ll fill in the charity’s name later. This way, you know where the money goes, and you get the tax deduction.

Feel free to leave a comment or e-mail (contact info here) with any questions…Good luck!

  1. We’ve got our first horse additions, via e-mail and Twitter:

Joe Clancy: Samraat and General a Rod

    Jim Mulvihill: Albano & Samraat

As I will also be adding Samraat, looks like the NY-bred’s going to get a little love…

  2. I had no idea I was even in the running hahaha I forgot who I had picked earlier, I know I had changed it around a few times in my head.

    Group D) California Chrome

    Group E) General A Rod

I’ll have to dig around and find where I buried my checks!
