The road to Churchill Downs stopped in the Big Easy on Saturday for the Silverbulletday and the Lecomte Stakes, prep and points races for the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby respectively.
The third 2015 points race for the Kentucky Oaks, the Silverbulletday at Fair Grounds in Louisiana was won by I’m A Chatterbox, trained by Larry Jones. She is owned and bred by Fletcher and Carolyn Gray.
Named for the filly that won the 1999 Kentucky Oaksand earned more than $3 million, the Silverbulletday offered a total of 17 points: 10 to the winner, four to the runner-up, and two and one respectively to the third- and fourth-place finishers.
