When the Yankees take to the field tonight to try to keep their series alive, Alex Rodriguez will once again be watching from the dugout. And while the one-time superstar might be smarting from such an ignominious end to the season, he might take heart from knowing that another New York A Rod has got it a whole lot worse than he does.
A Rod the horse is a four-year-old dark bay New York-bred who’s never competed outside of this state, making 17 of his 18 career starts at either Belmont or Aqueduct, both of them less than 20 miles from Yankee Stadium.
