Who Do You Like? Betting The 2014 Preakness

A year ago, Kentucky Derby winner Orb was practically pronounced a Triple Crown winner in the two weeks between his win at Churchill Downs and the Preakness Stakes. Whether the rigors of the prep season had their toll or whether he didn’t like the track at Pimlico, the odds-on favorite finished fourth and never won another race before being retired last fall.

Hope springs eternal in horse racing, and this year’s decisive Derby winner California Chrome has racing fans rooting hard for him to head to Belmont Park in three weeks with a Triple Crown on the line. But the wish for a Triple Crown isn’t going to stop people from finding a way to beat him and make money on Saturday, not easy to do with a horse that’s going to get hammered at the windows.
